The Chamber and its Women Entrepreneurs Committee introduced to Alcobendas’ business ecosystem

Eng. Oria Siahpoush, Secretary of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee of the Iran–Spain Joint Chamber of Commerce, attended SUMMIT Alcobendas 2026, an event in Alcobendas, Madrid, focused on business growth, entrepreneurship, innovation and new opportunities for companies and startups.

SUMMIT Alcobendas and the Alcobendas Emprende programme

SUMMIT Alcobendas is part of the city’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem and of Alcobendas Emprende, an initiative of the Alcobendas City Council (Ayuntamiento de Alcobendas) to support entrepreneurship, startup development and the growth and consolidation of local businesses. The ecosystem includes pre-acceleration and acceleration programmes, training, advisory and mentoring services, entrepreneurship spaces and programmes connecting businesses with innovation players.

The summit brings together entrepreneurs, startups, companies, investors and innovation stakeholders to share experience, explore new business and technology trends, and connect founders, businesses and investors. Expert sessions, practical workshops, startup–investor meetings and networking have been core parts of previous editions.

The 2026 edition focused on business growth and new opportunities, covering the future of business, technology and AI, company development, investment and connections across the entrepreneurship ecosystem. SUMMIT Alcobendas is therefore more than a series of talks; it is a platform for direct contact among companies, entrepreneurs, startups and investors.

During the event, Ms. Siahpoush met Ms. Mar Rodríguez Fernández, member of the Alcobendas City Council responsible for the Northern District, the Business Area, Employment Development, Commerce, Consumer Affairs and Licensing.

She presented the Iran–Spain Joint Chamber of Commerce as a private, non-profit organization and explained its mission to develop economic and commercial ties between private-sector players in Iran and Spain.

Introducing the Women Entrepreneurs Committee

Ms. Siahpoush also introduced the Chamber’s Women Entrepreneurs Committee and its approach to building professional connections, networking among women in business and entrepreneurship, and creating opportunities for cooperation between women entrepreneurs in both countries.

The visit offered a direct opportunity to present the Chamber in one of the most active business and innovation environments in the Madrid region. Alcobendas has an organized structure for supporting entrepreneurship and economic development, and through programmes such as Alcobendas Emprende the City Council provides services and dedicated spaces for entrepreneurs, startups and local businesses.

The conversation with the Alcobendas councillor on the sidelines of the summit laid the groundwork for mutual understanding and closer ties with one of the Madrid region’s active entrepreneurship ecosystems, a connection that could lead to engagement with local institutions, entrepreneurship hubs, companies and professional networks in the area.
