ICEX Next Call: Up to €24,000 to Support the International Growth of Spanish Companies

For members of the Iran–Spain Joint Chamber of Commerce with an active company in Spain

ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, Spain’s trade and investment promotion agency, has published the ICEX Next call under its ICEX Next 2026 programme to support Spanish small and medium-sized enterprises. The aim is to boost exports, help companies enter foreign markets and strengthen their international business.

The programme offers financial support of up to €24,000, together with 30 hours of specialised consulting, to help eligible companies design and implement an international growth plan. Under the terms of the call, the support can cover up to 60% of eligible expenses, within the set ceiling, over a two-year period.

Registration deadline: 30 October 2026, 14:00 Spanish time

Which activities are supported?

Selected companies can receive financial support and consulting services for the following activities, within the programme rules:

  • Market research: analysing target markets, identifying export opportunities, studying competitors and assessing commercial potential
  • Building a sales network: finding business partners, sales agents and distributors, and building international contacts
  • Marketing and export promotion: business trips, product presentations, and international advertising and marketing
  • Digital solutions: e-commerce tools, digital marketing and technology to expand presence in foreign markets
  • Specialised staff: part of the eligible costs of hiring international business specialists
  • Strategic planning: designing and implementing an international business plan suited to the company’s capabilities and goals

In addition, companies receive 30 hours of dedicated advice from ICEX-approved consultants.

Main eligibility requirements

According to the programme’s official website, applicant companies must meet these basic conditions:

  • Be a Spanish SME or technology-based start-up.
  • Offer products or services under their own brand; service companies must provide their services abroad.
  • Have a turnover of more than €300,000 in the year before the call (except newly created technology-based start-ups).
  • Have a corporate website.
  • Have, or hire, staff specialised in internationalisation.

Important note for chamber members with a company in Spain

Members of the Iran–Spain Joint Chamber of Commerce with a registered and active company in Spain can review the conditions of this call. However, registering a company and doing business in Spain does not in itself make a company eligible for this support.

Under the ICEX Next rules, commercial or production branches and subsidiaries of foreign companies are excluded from the programme. For companies set up in Spain by Iranian business owners, it is therefore essential to review their legal structure, ownership, independence and the other conditions of the call.

Having an Iranian shareholder does not in itself mean exclusion from the programme; final eligibility is decided by ICEX on the basis of its official criteria. Companies that only attract foreign customers to Spain to receive services, without exporting their goods or services to foreign markets, are also not eligible.

Why the programme matters for Iran–Spain business cooperation

Beyond supporting the international growth of Spanish companies, ICEX Next is also relevant for identifying business cooperation opportunities. Companies planning to expand exports and enter foreign markets may need business partners, distribution networks, suppliers of goods and services, or market development consultants.

From this perspective, familiarity with Spain’s support programmes can help chamber members better understand Spanish companies, explore B2B cooperation opportunities and develop bilateral business ties.

Separate call for internationalisation professionals

ICEX has also published a separate call to recruit 80 professionals in business internationalisation, e-commerce and technology. If selected, they will join the ICEX Next consultant network and support Spanish companies through their international growth.

Consultant registration deadline: 4 November 2026, 23:59 Spanish time
